Cambodia Gambling Dens

[ English ]

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship casino, features one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel compound that features numerous conveniences accompanying the gambling den, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
