Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling den wagering is against the law. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; although, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship gambling den, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel building that contains numerous amenities aside from the gambling den, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
