Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is illegal. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are apparently necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship gambling den, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that features a number of amenities aside from the casino, which offers 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
